NHS Foundation Trust prevents £100k in overpayments for an ROI of 300%
Details

Northumbria has six-person team that processes more than 200,000 invoices per year for over 3,000 suppliers. The processes were not robust and were all retrospective. When overpayments were made, they would apply internal credits to counter invoice once a further purchase was made. For irregular suppliers, these credits could sit on the ledgers for several months. This had a massive impact on cash flow, and recovering payments several months down the line was time consuming and costly.

Solution

To prevent overpayments and cost avoidance, Northumbria installed FISCAL’s forensic risk analysis solution on a six-year contract. A script run by NEP then allowed other consortium members to be live with the software. Training was provided remotely to the team, who immediately benefitted from fantastic results.

Benefits.

  • Prevention of over £100,000 in overpayments, the equivalent of 300% ROI, in just six weeks
  • Greater visibility thanks to the reporting function, which the team can use for KPI measurement
  • Proactive elimination of overpayments and errors
  • Improvement of cash flow
  • Frequent errors flags to review
